Map 1 Beta Release
OOOOH boy it has been a while everyone. This is the first real update i would say and it is a doozy of a big one, so I will go over everything bit by bit for it.
1: First off, the biggest thing we got a real map for you to beta test now! The map itself is still underworked and i will be changing later down the line with more additions and better optimized everything as right now i think it may be a big overkill. (It's probably super overkill)
2: The map design itself, so with this new map currently I took inspiration from churches and castles and monastery's, you spawn in falling into a large courtyard that in the future update will be filled with a grass center and plants. Then behind you is a large area like a chapel that will be getting more flushed out and will hold the first boss. Off to the left is a pathway to a classroom and the library which currently is blocked off. To the right / left is stairs that leads you up to a little walkway at the courtyard that on the right side has a hallway to the living quarters, which then connects to the dining hall. Or you have the center pathway that leads you to a 3 way crossroads left going to the WIP belltower, forward leads to a turn to the dining area, and right leads to a hall connecting the dining area and the bedroom. Finally in the dining area there is 1 more path way leading to the kitchen. Going forward i will be implementing ways to traverse the map from the Kitchen, Clocktower, and the library but as of right now they are still in progress.
3: Enemy Spawn Locations are now implemented with a indicator that being a piled up skeleton / skeletons with one being upright. This asset is to indicate where the enemy can spawn and is used as a decoration in 2 other parts of the map sparingly.
4: Bruisers update, that's right i changed the bruisers so now they will actually get the distance between you and them, and judge based on a limited distance (25m right now) and the height difference (max being 6) Their explosions are back to damaging the player.
5: Overall Enemy Changes Both the Bruiser and Monster are now tankier the Bruiser with a massive nearly Double HP pool and the Monster with a 30% increase in hp.
6: Weapon changes, the reason the enemy health is increased is because the rifle is now fully auto rifle! Along with this we implemented a drastically more accurate reticle and added in more juice for the bullet casings now spawning in!
7: Also, if you happen to notice the symbolism with the statues above the courtyard be sure to point it out I thought it was a nice touch but I'm also a big nerd. And there is now music everywhere, it is randomized and currently the music is just a place holder as I would love to work with a musician for custom music.
8: Lastly future plans Like you may have noticed before I said I would be implementing a boss enemy and that's right before June 14tth I plan on getting a new enemy type one of the Angels. This is still a work in progress and I'm much more into the Eldritch horror aspect of angels rather than beautiful people in white robes with wings (could still have them). Along with this i would adore 1 more general enemy type but that one will be trickier as i want them to be made out of stained glass. Along with this in the future I will be adding in new Ui elements like a main menu my friend is making currently, upgrade system, purchasable in the map, and many more things! I appreciate anyone who follows this project as it's been a blast to learn from it and (even with me hitting my head into walls) I think this project will be one i continue to work on for the foreseeable future.
